Halal Business Forum gathered relevant interlocutors from around 30 countries worldwide
On the first day of the Halal Business Forum in Zagreb, three panel discussions were held. The topics discussed by the panelists were "Circular Economy and Halal Consumption", "Halal Finance and Trade", and "Halal Communication and Media".
This year's Halal Business Forum gathered relevant interlocutors on the halal market from around 30 countries worldwide. On the first day, participation in the panels included the University's financial manager, MSc Haris Zogić, as well as the director of Sandžak Television, Salahudin Fetić.
Zogić spoke about how universities can contribute to the development of the halal industry and the Islamic finance industry.
"I presented at the panel what our university has done, specifically by establishing the Council for Innovation and Development, which is composed of businesspeople, thereby helping to connect businesspeople with our students who are in need of jobs upon graduation and during their studies. Then, certainly, by establishing the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. We will work on business plans, connecting potential entrepreneurs and investors, and certainly on other projects that the university undertakes to support the halal industry and the Islamic finance industry. The University is a waqf, the Islamic Community is the owner of the University, so it is logical that the University in Novi Pazar pays attention to this segment," said MSc Haris Zogić.
Speaking about halal communication and media, the director of the Media Center of the Islamic Community emphasized that in some media recently, credibility is being lost when it comes to the information being presented.
"We must change this paradigm and fight to ensure that the information we present and send to listeners, viewers, and those who are consumers of our programs, that they have absolutely no dilemma about whether it is true and accurate, that they do not have to verify whether it actually happened or not. The media must restore that shaken trust that occurred at one point in the past when the media themselves began to produce public opinion rather than report on it," emphasized Dr. Muamer Tinjak.
The director of Sandžak Television emphasized that it is very important to have an offer that provides and promotes true values.
"Unfortunately, there are many more who fight for sensations, for views, clicks, and likes, thereby losing their compass and losing basic ethics in editing, reporting, and media work and journalism. There are many more such [media], but regardless of that, there are media that still deal with true values and base their journalistic work on ethical journalistic codes," said Salahudin Fetić.
Participant in the panel on the topic "Education in the Halal Industry – Industry-Academia Collaboration", which was held on the second day of the Halal Business Forum, was the Rector of the University of Novi Pazar, Prof. Dr. Suad Bećirović.
