Mecca Brings Together Global Halal Institutions – Centre for Halal Quality Certification Also Participates

Mecca, a symbol of faith and one of the most important places in the Islamic world, is these days bringing together representatives of the global halal industry for the international event Makkah Halal Forum 2026, taking place from 14 to 16 February in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The forum was opened by the Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, and brings together representatives of state institutions, accreditation bodies, certification houses and businesses from a large number of countries.

The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by the Deputy Reis-ul-Ulema, Dr. Enes Ljevaković, who on this occasion signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD).

The signing was attended by the Director of the Agency for Halal Quality Certification, Dr. Damir Alihodžić, and the Director of the Institute for Halal Standards Certification in Slovenia, Fahrudin Smajić.

During the forum, Muhamed Mandžić, Manager of the Centre for Halal Quality Certification, held a series of meetings with representatives of Saudi institutions, including the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAC), Makkah Chamber of Commerce and the Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports), as well as with international organizations and partner delegations.

He also attended the official opening of the forum and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, confirming the Centre's active participation in international processes for the development and connection of the halal market.
