PROFESSIONAL SEMINAR FOR EXTERNAL HALAL QUALITY AUDITORS HELD
The Centre for Halal Quality Certification organised a two-day internal seminar intended for the additional education and training of external auditors who participate in assessing compliance with halal requirements. The seminar was held in cooperation with the company Supera kvaliteta d.o.o. and brought together participants from various sectors related to the halal industry.
On the first day, the seminar focused on food safety systems, with an emphasis on hazard identification, control measures, and the application of good hygiene and production practices. Through lectures and interactive exercises, participants covered key steps in risk management in the food chain and gained insight into the specific requirements relating to halal production.
The second day was dedicated to planning, preparing, and conducting halal audits. Participants had the opportunity to take part in workshops and simulations that included conducting opening meetings, asking questions, and providing feedback. Emphasis was placed on the practical skills needed for effective and professional on-site auditing.
The seminar was led by Sanja Peterlić, MSc in Medical Biochemistry and a long-standing expert in the field of quality and food safety systems, whose knowledge and experience further enriched the training programme.
Upon completion of the seminar, a final test was conducted, and all participants were awarded certificates of successful completion of the training. Such training is part of the Centre’s continuous investment in the quality and expertise of all those involved in the halal certification process.
