Training session for internal halal quality auditors held

Today, a training session for internal halal quality auditors was held, attended by representatives from the hospitality sector and manufacturers from various branches of industry. The focus of the training was on a deeper understanding of the requirements of the halal standard, with the aim of achieving an authentic and professional approach to doing business in line with halal quality requirements.

The acting head of the Centre for Halal Quality Certification, Mr Muhamed Mandžić, warmly welcomed the participants and presented the work and activities of the Centre. Through concrete examples, he explained all phases of the certification process. His presentation was particularly useful for new participants in the system, as well as for those who wish to further improve their existing practices.

The head of the Education Department, Prof Enisa Botonjić, explained the Sharia aspects of halal and haram in a simple and understandable way. Through an overview of basic religious terminology, she provided a solid foundation for understanding the halal system, not only as a technical standard, but also as a value-based concept that builds trust with consumers.

We are especially pleased by the participation of representatives from the Biomania restaurant, which is beginning its certification process. They have approached certification with their facility located in Zagreb. Biomania is an exclusively organic restaurant that nurtures a farm-to-table philosophy. Through cooperation with small family farms and its own food production, Biomania creates menus that reflect the seasonal and local specifics of the region, with an emphasis on sustainability, authenticity, and health. Their commitment to ethical and responsible food naturally aligns with the values of halal quality.

Also with us was Varžak med, a producer with more than 40 years of experience in creating premium honeys that combine tradition, knowledge, and nature. In cooperation with local beekeepers and with production in line with the strictest standards, the Varžak family has developed recognisable brands such as Classic, Dobra Vibra, and Mediterra, which have been awarded multiple times at international competitions. Their approach clearly reflects the fundamental values of the halal system: purity, quality, and respect for nature.

The presence of established brands such as Kraš and New Bakery further confirms how continuous employee training is crucial for maintaining high standards and long-term sustainability in the halal system.

Networking, exchange of experiences, and the improvement of halal quality in the market marked this successful training session.
