Visit to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
Yesterday afternoon, the head of the Centre for Halal Quality Certification, Assistant Professor Dr. sc. Aldin Dugonjić, visited the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. The Centre’s head informed State Secretary Nataša Mikuš Žigman about the activities carried out by the Centre and the possibilities for joint cooperation. It was noted that the halal market is recording year-on-year growth in both supply and demand. Encouraging are the latest estimates of the global halal market, which show that it is growing by 4.47% despite the pandemic.
The head emphasised that, from the very beginning of its operation, the Centre for Halal Quality Certification has been focused on raising the quality and competitiveness of products and services certified according to the requirements of the halal standard, which was registered in 2010 at the Croatian Standards Institute, making it one of the first halal standards in the European Union.
Thanks to its commitment to achieving lasting and added value and quality in business activities, the halal certificate of the Centre for Halal Quality Certification has become internationally recognised and present, as evidenced by numerous international accreditations, thereby enabling unimpeded exports to the halal market. There was also discussion about the goals of economic development according to the Draft Proposal of the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2030.
State Secretary Nataša Mikuš Žigman thanked them for the information provided and for all that the Centre does to make the Croatian economy more recognisable in the international halal market. Also present at the meeting were Ms. Grozdana Vuđan, Head of Department in the Directorate for Trade and Public Procurement Policy at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Muhamed Mandžić, Sales Manager at the Centre for Halal Quality Certification.
